Still having Long COVID fun but am hoping to soon turn a corner with specialist help kicking in. There’s light at the end of the tunnel!
Continuing to keep me sane I boshed out a couple more illustrations:
Hesketh 50th Anniversary Logo Competition
In the void of the days in between Christmas and New Years Day my brother made me aware of a competition to create a new logo for the ex Formula 1 Team Hesketh (made famous by their driver James Hunt). The prize? Some Hesketh merch and the logo being adopted by Hesketh for their year of events etc. I jumped at it, I’ve been fascinated by James since an early age and equally the Hesketh Formula 1 Team with their legendary partying “playboy” approach to the sport. I had 2 days to complete this, in between family time, and admittedly I over indulged with some elements.
The design I created was of an overhead shot of the Hesketh mascot Teddy being run over by their 708 F1 car, I always like to throw some humour in. The tyre marks are in the teams colours.
If I’d of had more time I would‘ve finessed it further but there you go…
My design made it through to the final round in the competition, I’m up against some brilliant designs. Still waiting to hear of the result, hope to know soon.

Elis and John Podcast Infographic/sketch note
Throughout the past 4 months I’ve been unwell I’ve been monstering through podcasts, one mind you that I’ve been listening to for donkeys years is Elis James and John Robins’. Worth a gander!
I thought, in my infinite boredom, that I’d caricature the 2 comedians trying out a different cartoony style using straight lines only, no curves. On completing them I added their scared producer and then visualise each of their radio show features - in doing so creating a sketch note style infographic. With each of the shows features I used different styles and added as many nods to the show that I could. To finish the piece by placing as many sayings as I could around the images created that i could - very much against the “be comfortable with blank spaces” concept.
It was a laugh this one, I certainly dived deep!

Following the completion I shared it on a Facebook fanpage where received some really positive comments; on Instagram; plus I DM’d both Elis and John. John threw up an insta story containing my post - for me that made it all worth the effort:

Hope this post finds you well.
On to the next!!
Alex.
